Indigenous Peoples' Day

Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day

Indigenous Peoples' Day recognizes that Native people are the first inhabitants of the Americas, including the lands that later became the United States of America.

To celeberate Indigenous Peoples' Day we at Stoop Logic recommend:

  • Finding out which indigenous nations inhabited the areas around you and familiarizing yourself with their culture.

  • Watching an indigenously inspired movie.

  • Donating to various indigenous movements, such as MMIW.

  • Read a book by an indigenous writer. Here is a list to get you started.

MMIW

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) is a movement that advocates for the end of violence against Native women. It also seeks to draw attention to the high rates of disappearances and murders of Native people, particularly women and girls.
